Country Ridge in Mahomet: A Local's Guide to the Neighborhood and Home Prices

I don't just sell homes in Country Ridge. I live here.

The short answer

Country Ridge is an established Mahomet neighborhood of more than 200 single-family homes, built in six phases from 1996 to 2019. It has sidewalks, a park the HOA owns and maintains, neighborhood events, fiber internet, and quick access to I-74 and Champaign. Over the last two years, homes here sold from $335,000 to $500,000, with a median of about $455,000, and most went under contract within a few weeks at or near full price.

I've lived in Country Ridge for 20 years and raised my kids here, so I know it the way you only know a place after years of school mornings and evening walks. What I notice most is the people. On any nice evening you'll see neighbors out walking and jogging the sidewalks, stopping to talk in driveways, and kids at the park. It's the kind of neighborhood where people actually know each other.

Living in Country Ridge

  • Sidewalks throughout, and they get used. Walking and jogging are part of the everyday rhythm here.
  • The new park. The HOA owns and maintains about 3 acres of park ground with a playground.
  • Neighborhood events put on by the HOA, for all ages.
  • Fiber internet. Two separate high-speed fiber networks are available to every home, which matters if you work from home.
  • Water views on some lots. A few homes back to the water.
  • An easy commute. Champaign-Urbana is about ten minutes away, with quick access to I-74, I-72, Route 150 and Route 47.
  • Lake of the Woods is close by for trails, the botanical garden, golf and fishing.
  • Schools: Mahomet-Seymour CUSD 3.

The phases: late '90s to 2019

Country Ridge was built in stages, starting with Phase I in 1996 and finishing with Phase VI in 2019. That's one of the things I like about it: you get a real mix of homes in one neighborhood.

  • The early phases (late 1990s): 1.5-story and two-story homes, at the most accessible prices in the neighborhood.
  • The middle phases (2000s): two-stories and ranches, some with finished lower levels and water views.
  • The later phases (2008 to 2019): newer two-stories and ranches, many with finished lower levels.

What homes sold for in the last two years

Eight homes closed in Country Ridge from June 2025 through October 2026:

  • Price range: $335,000 to $500,000
  • Median sale price: about $455,000
  • Median time on market: about three weeks
  • Sale vs. list price: most sold at or very near full price

Homes don't come up here often, and when a well-kept one does, it tends to go fast. If you're hoping to buy in Country Ridge, it helps to be ready before the right house hits the market.

Quality vs. quantity in Country Ridge

Like every neighborhood in Mahomet, size alone doesn't set the price here:

  • Two two-story homes sold for the same price, even though one had about 550 more finished square feet. The smaller one was about nine years newer.
  • The top sale was a ranch with about 1,900 square feet on the main floor, a finished lower level and a water view. It sold for more than two-stories with far more space on the main and upper floors.

Age, updates, a finished lower level, the lot and the view all move the number. That's why I price every home off the closest true comparisons, not an average. (More in What Is My Mahomet Home Worth?)

Sales figures are based on eight single-family sales in Country Ridge that closed from June 2025 through October 2026, from the MLS. Information is deemed reliable but not guaranteed. Neighborhood details are from the Country Ridge Homeowners Association.
